About Dan

Dan Fusco is a lifelong Mohawk Valley resident, small business owner, and community leader whose life’s work has been shaped by entrepreneurship, service, and a deep respect for people and place.
Dan founded his first business at just eleven years old. That early spark grew into a piano technology company that has operated continuously in Utica for more than four decades, along with a music products manufacturing company that distributed nationally and internationally. His career reflects a hands-on approach to problem solving, craftsmanship, and long-term commitment, values that continue to guide his work today.
Outside of business, Dan owns and operates a rural agricultural property in Deerfield, where he raises beef and vegetables for local markets. He has also set aside conservation land on his property to protect native grasslands and wildlife habitat, reflecting his belief in responsible land stewardship and preserving resources for future generations.
Dan is a lifelong martial artist and a 6th-degree master instructor through the World Taekwondo Association. For more than 30 years, he has owned and operated a dojo in the City of Utica, where he has taught countless children the values of discipline, physical fitness, confidence, and injury prevention. His commitment to mentoring young people has been a constant thread throughout his life.
Music has played an equally important role. Dan has spent decades sharing his love of piano and performance, with experiences ranging from recording in renowned studios alongside legendary artists to working with platinum recording engineers. Today, he continues that tradition by mentoring and teaching children the art of music, believing strongly in creativity as a tool for growth and self-expression.
A lifelong learner, Dan has traveled extensively across the country to better understand the realities facing communities beyond his own. From firsthand experiences near the southern border to conversations with elected officials in other states, he believes listening and learning are essential to effective leadership.
Dan currently serves as an elected member of the Deerfield Town Board, where he brings his real-world experience to local governance. His work on the board has provided firsthand knowledge of budgeting, land use, and constituent services, grounding his public service in practicality, accountability, and a deep connection to the community he calls home.
Dan’s deep roots in the Mohawk Valley and his belief in community-centered leadership are what drives his candidacy for the New York State Assembly in the 119th District. He is running to bring practical, affordable solutions that put people first, focusing on the issues that matter most to families, from health care and energy costs to responsible budgeting and strengthening local communities. His campaign reflects the same commitment to service and collaboration he has shown in business, in teaching, and in local government, with a clear goal of making Albany work for everyday New Yorkers, not against them.
